Serena started The Traveling Technician business over 7 years ago. Her goal is to bring her services and knowledge of pet care to you, in the convenience of your home. She has over 23 years experience working with animals, and has been a registered vet tech since 2009.
With a vast background in lab animal medicine as well as private practice, Serena is highly trained. She graduated from Tri-C in Parma, OH and takes routine pet care very seriously.
Serena spent her childhood caring for of all types of animals, and knew from a young age that this was something she was meant to do. Her love for animals hasn't changed, as her family cares for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, snakes and a bearded dragon. When Serena comes to care for your pets, you will understand her passion and love for animals!

Katie went to Cuyahoga Community College and graduated in 2016 with her Associate of Applied Science Degree. She took the VTNE that same year and became a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has a wide range of training from emergency medicine and general practice medicine, to daycare and boarding care. She has also furthered her education by becoming a Fear Free Certified Professional.
Katie joined The Traveling Technician in 2021 because she wanted to be able help her community by expanding in home pet care knowledge to pet owners. With five pets of her own, all with their own unique medical needs, she has experience and understanding to offer our clients. She will bring her Fear Free energy, joy, and love into your home when you chose her to care for your pets.

We have many new faces here, so I wanted to introduce myself!!
Who is this lady who posts all these pet pics?!
I’m Serena, your tour guide, business owner, and Registered Veterinary Technician. I have had my own business since 2016, and I have been an RVT in Ohio for 13 years. I’ve also have had animals since I was 10. I’m 35.

I have a menagerie of my own, and give your pets the same care and respect my pets receive. I have 4 dogs, 7 cats, a bearded dragon, snake and hamster.
I have the highest standards of care for my pets, as well as the care my clients get.
As a technician, I bring many things from a clinic setting into the comfort of your home 🏠.
The things I bring to your home are tech appointments, and I show you how to hold your own pets confidently, and explain everything as I do them.
It is owner inclusive! You are a part of the team. 
I offer a multitude of services including, but not limited to:
▪️Nail trims
▪️Ear cleaning
▪️Anal glands
▪️Pet sitting and drop in visits
▪️Drop in visits
▪️Sanitary trims
▪️Pet transport
▪️Mat removal
▪️Undercoat removal
▪️Post-op care/questions
▪️SubQ Fluids as prescribed
▪️Administering meds- oral, eye meds, topical, injections like insulin, vitamin b, and the like, as prescribed by your DVM.
Also offer retainer services while you are at work!

I do not replace your DVM, but act as a partner in your pet’s health and help execute treatments and routine care to help with owner compliance.
I also have created a growing library 📚 of Digital Pet Care Courses, 💻 that are easy to understand, full of videos, checklists and PDFs so pet care can be easy, fun, and factual since it was created by an RVT.
Client education is one of the pillars in my business, and I thrive helping you understand your pets, the care they need, and explaining all the details.
Tech Questions via Zoom are also offered.
You have questions. I can help triage a situation, or answer a plethora of pet topics.
Vet Techs handle 95% of client education in rooms with the owners, but with Zoom, we have more time, and tailor my approach based on your needs.
Things that I am NOT doing:
❌Grooming- I am NOT a groomer. I am a medical professional. I help with medically necessary care and routine maintenance. Not bathing, or haircuts
❌Annual Exams
❌Prescribing meds
❌Diagnosis
❌Surgery
